Each year, the WNYPBN holds an annual Elegant Evening to Remember Gala to honor physicians, nurses, advocates, and volunteers who have made a difference in the lives of bereaved families in Western New York. In addition to honoring individuals, the gala is also a fundraiser that supports the programs of the WNYPBN. We hope you will join us at the 2026 event this year! Register for tickets here or find more details below.

Every year, we gather for our annual Bereaved Parents Day Brunch. It is a meaningful and heartfelt time as we came together to honor our precious babies and support one another as their parents. We share poems and readings, and light candles in remembrance — a quiet, powerful tribute to the little ones we carry in our hearts. We are so grateful to all the families who join us and help make this a beautiful and sacred gathering.
Details on our next Parents Brunch are below. Please scan the QR code or register for tickets here.
We hope to see you there!

“Fall is Elite” Returns!
Thank you to Jeremy and Molly White for their annual fundraising campaign with “Fall is Elite”, in honor of their babies Zoe, Lincoln, Miles, and Brecken. This year, Wayland Brewing joined the “Fall is Elite” collaboration. Jeremy and Molly, along with Wayland Brewing, donated $1 for each can/draft of its special “Fall is Elite” brew, served throughout the month of October! We are so grateful to everyone who participated in the event. Thanks to your contribution the fundraiser raised a generous donation of $936.

A heartfelt thank you to Glory Be to Kids for their incredibly generous donation of $33,770 raised through their 2024 events and fundraisers! On January 14th, 2025, we had the honor of receiving these funds, which were presented to the Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network (WNYPBN). We are deeply grateful for this support, which will help us grow our programs and raise crucial awareness for the infant loss community.
We are also truly thankful for the dedication and hard work of Glory Be to Kids’ Board of Directors and all of its members. Your unwavering commitment to supporting children in our community is both inspiring and appreciated. We had a wonderful time volunteering at the events and connecting with so many incredible people!
Special thanks to Executive Director, Emily Doring, and Board members, Joanna Weld and Terry O. Michalek, for being present at the check presentation.

The Original RED Buffalo Lawn Ornament was thought up in Buffalo, designed in Buffalo and is produced just outside of Buffalo… even the box it comes in is from Buffalo. There’s a lot of Buffalo in this buffalo!

A heartfelt thank you to Bill and Kristina Craig of Medal Chasers for hosting the “Forever in Our Hearts” Virtual Event in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This year’s event brought together participants from around the world, including virtual attendees from Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Ireland! We’re excited to share that the event raised $628 for our Wings of Love Memorial Fund. This annual event features a unique medal design each year, and we’re so grateful for their continued support.

Ryan’s Reason was established in 2015 to raise funds to find a treatment and cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) in honor of Ryan McGowan. Ryan was born December 8th, 2014 and survived over three hours before he passed away in his mothers arms, surrounded by his family. Along with fundraising for PKD, Ryan’s Reason is also dedicated to providing financial support to families who have lost a child. To date, Ryan’s Reason has donated $150,000 to the PKD Foundation in hopes of finding a treatment and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease and over $45,000 to families in Western New York who have lost a child. In 2022, Ryan’s Reason committed $50,000 to the John R. Oishei Children’s hospital, and will be a legacy sponsor on the new high risk pregnancy unit, where Ryan’s name will live on forever.
Thank you to Ryan’s Reason for their recent $10,000 donation to Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network, Inc.
Since 2023, Joanna and Nathan Weld have run the Smitty Golf Tournament to help raise funding for multiple local charities including the Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network. Thanks to their dedication to helping families, we have received an accumulated gift of $7386.

Due to the restrictions and safety precautions required by New York State because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the WNYPBN has to restructure our annual events. In response to this series of unfortunate circumstances, the creative team has come up with alternatives to our annual events, while still paying tribute to your beautiful babies and helping others who are in need of assistance after the loss of their babies, while keeping our community safe.
Please visit our Events tab for information about our upcoming 2022 Events and Fundraisers. We hope you are all able to participate in one or all of our events as we adapt to our “New Normal” and continue to stay in good health and be safe. We are grateful for your support!
Thank you, Emily, Christine, Sue, Kelly and our Event Volunteer Committee
